This spring, bamboo has taken root in Beijing’s CBD. Within the exhibition “Zhao Bandi: Unceasing Creation, Unending Warmth”, the artist has transplanted a shelter built from Moso bamboo into the halls of Taikang Art Museum.
By exploring the exhibition, we invite you and your children to learn about the creative journey of Zhao Bandi, the “Panda Man,” and to appreciate his exquisite paintings and relentless creativity. Then, beneath the 11-meter-high ceiling, right inside the artwork “Zhao Bandi’s Den”, we will engage in the art of natural dyeing. Bamboo leaves will become our source of pigment. Join us to witness colors and textures bloom and spread across a custom TAM canvas tote bag.
While waiting for the dyes to set, we will continue our exploration by visiting the exhibition “Amid the Vast Expanse of the Sky: The Art and Archives of Jiang Zhaohe”. Using Jiang Zhaohe’s multi-media explorations as a case study, we will learn about artistic practices that fuse different mediums and the evolution of pattern design.
