For this session, we have invited Song Zhuangzhuang, co-founder of the renowned initiative Di Du Hui. A graduate of both Harvard and Tsinghua University, he will lead us on a deep dive into the history of Beijing’s CBD core area, uncovering the hidden stories behind this bustling district. Through his expert lens, you will experience a side of the CBD unlike the usual daily rush, embarking on a fresh urban exploration adventure.
In fact, the core area of Beijing’s CBD, centered around Dabeiyao, is not as aloof as one might imagine. It’s more like a vibrant young soul with a multifaceted and inclusive character. Beneath its seemingly sleek and modern exterior lies a unique mix of the “industrial vibe” from former factory sites, the “living atmosphere” emanating from residential neighborhoods, and the “artistic air” brought by new cultural landmarks like Taikang Art Museum (TAM).
We have also specially designed a lunch-break walking route for this event, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing and fascinating historical stroll even in the midst of a busy workday.
